The BUS is the cheapest and perhaps the worst way to travel in Spain... If you are not masochistic or out of money you shouldn´t do trips of more then 4 or 5 hours on a bus. We really recommand that you take the train or look for a cheap flight (Air Europa, Spanair).

ALSA. ALSA is a big part of the transportation system in Spain. It connects all major cities by bus. Barcelona-Madrid for example is connected every 3 hours. For a little bit more money (€) you can travel first class on buses. (It´s worth the money). Details at www.alsa.es.
