Hiking and Extreme Sports

Centro Excursionista de Catalunya, a hiking club that organizes trips in the area, c/ Paradis 10, (933152311).

Probike, a mountain bike store that also organizes excursions, c/ París 128, (934197889).

Vértigo Cometas, a store devoted to selling kites and organizing kite-flying excursions to a beach 20km from the city, c/ Avenir 66.

Club Excursionistes Pirenaic, a para-sailing club that organizes excursions to the Pyrenees, av/ Portal de L´Angel 1, (933024239).

Federació Catalana d´Espeleología, a spelunking (cave exploring) club that arranges trips in the area, av/ Portal de L´Angel 38, (933180777).

Revolution Helicopter España, pricey helicopter excursions to the mountains that can include rapelling and hiking, p/ Llivia 77.


Countryside Inns

La Torre d'en Bofia en Cardona offers horseback riding, visits to a nearby castle, and to the local salt mines (938 691 968).

Estrella de Mar in Castelldefels (Cat. 2) Km 16,7 de la C-246 (936330784) campgound with many amenities open year round.

Sitges Campsite in Sitges (Cat. 2) Km. 38,6 de la C-246 (938941080) campground with many amenities including swimming pool open from 1/3 through 20/10.

El Toro Bravo just south of Barcelona proper, (936373462) campground with many amenities open year round.



Amusement Parks

Illa de Fantasia, during the day it is a water-park with all the fun slides and wave pools you would expect, and at night (Saturdays) it turns into a waterdisco! Inexpensive admission, but you will need a car to get there (937514553). 

Port Aventura, very hefty admission fee (about 30€) gives you unlimited access to rides in the entire park including an 8-loop rollercoaster, wet rapids, a corkswrew, carousels, childrens rides, and virtual reality games. Accessible by car and by RENFE, (977779090).



Beaches

Sitges, restaurants, beaches, boardwalks, and nightlife in this adorable nearby town make it a favourite weekend destination. Reached by car or by Cercanías trains. Tourist information at (938944251).



Museums
